Albemarle County was formed in 1744 from Goochland County. Parts of Louisa County were added in 1761 and 1838.
Records, 1824-1860, of Albemarle County consist of copies of wills, administrators' bonds, and papers related to miscellaneous suits.
Papers, 1824, related to a criminal case entitled Commonwealth of Virginia versus Johnson Mitchell.
Three administrator's bonds, 1836, 1853, two granted to Craven Peyton in 1836 to oversee the estates of George Peyton and Robert Peyton and one granted to Anna M. Moon in 1853 to oversee the estate of Edward H. Moon.
Decree, 1854, in the chancery cause Executrix of David Higginbotham versus George D. Fisher and others.
Copy of will and two stock certificates of the Virginia Central Railroad Company, 1860, of John Black.
Affidavit, 1867, in a suit heard in the Circuit Court of Goochland County entitles Richard Sclater versus James M. Moran.
Copy of will, 1870, of William Cowherd.
Papers, 1870, related to an issue out of chancery in the chancery cause, Administrator of George Rives versus Administrator of William P. Farish.
