Digital transfer files (.WAV and .mp3) were produced from the original cassette audio tapes in 2007 and 2008, for all audio existing for project years 1997/1998 through 2006/2007. These digital files have been placed on compact discs and are intended to be used as service copies. Audio interviews from the 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 project years have not been digitized. The Lakeland High School Military Veterans Oral History Project is a collection of interviews of veterans from the Suffolk, Virginia, area by Lakeland High School history students.
The Lakeland High School (Suffolk, Va.) Military Veterans Oral History Project, 1997-2009, captures veterans' recollections of military duty and their involvement in major U.S. military actions including World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and post-Vietnam conflicts. Written transcripts or reports are included for all interviews. Audio or video recordings are available for some but not all of the interviews. A complete list is available at the library. No materials are available from the 1998-1999 project.
Transcripts from the Military Veterans Oral History Project, conducted annually from 1997-2009 by Lakeland High School (Suffolk, Va.) students. The interviews feature veterans recounting military experiences from the 1940's through the present.

Not all of the interviews conducted in this time period were recorded. Of the recordings that exist, the majority are audio; only a handful are on video. The audio recordings have been digitized through project year 2006/2007. Please use digital copies on CD as service copies.
