The Records of the Communication Director (Delacey Skinner, 2006-2008 and Lynda Tran, 2009-2010) are housed in three (3) boxes. The original file order has been maintained. These records consist primarily of policy background material, drafts of major speaches by Governor Kaine, Skinner's handwritten notepads, and a compilation of priority actions and policy positions taken by Kaine during his 2005 campaign. These records include correspondence, talking points, presenations, memorandum, e-mail, reports, speeches, and notes.

Notable documents include: Proposed Communication Plan, Office of Governor Timothy M., Kaine, 2009-2010 (b1, f1); memorandum from Lynda Tran to Governor Kaine, dated 11 September 2009, outline an end-of-term communication plan (b1, f1); mulitple drafts of Governor Kaine's 2006 State of the Commonwealth address (b2, f1); working outline and draft of Kaine's 2006 State of the Union Response (b2, f2); and multiple drafts of Kaine's 2008 State of the Commonwealth address (b2, f8).

The Records of the Press Secretary (Kevin Hall, January 2006-October 2007) are housed in five (5) boxes. Original order was impossible to ascertain. The records have been put in chronological order by the processing archivist. These records consist primarily of documents related to the 2006 budget/transportation plan, 2007 budget/transporation plan, and press releases. Kevin Hall also served as Governor Mark Warner's dupty press secretary and press secretary. A few records in this series date from that service. These records include correspondence, talking points, presenations, memorandum, e-mail, reports, schedules, speeches, and notes.

The Multimedia Files are housed in five (5) boxes and is arranged by format. Formats include: DVD, audio files, digital photographs, documents on CD, video tapes (VHS and Beta) and photographic prints. Records are arranged in chronological order within each format catagory. These records include interviews, major speaches, public service announcements (PSAs), and photographs of Governor Tim Kaine. Some of this material dates from when Kaine was Lt. Governor. The photographic prints are not identified (event or date).
