Overton Harris was born in Louisa County, Virginia. Sometime before 1825, he and his family emigrated to Todd County, Kentucky. Harris had either moved from Kentucky or died by 1840.
Letter, dated 17 September 1825, from Overton Harris of Todd County, Kentucky, to his brother Benjamin Harris (d. 1846) of Louisa County, Virginia, describing life in Todd County, including observations on agriculture, weather, and religion. Also includes a discussion of illness among the slaves.
