The Business and Professional Women's Club of Richmond, Va. was organized in 1930 to "promote acquaintance, understanding, and practical co-operation among business and professional women and, so far as possible, to increase their efficiency, enlarge their opportunities, and create an influence which shall be mutually beneficial both to the community and the individuals. "
