was never married.
Letter written by 1st Lieutenant William Beatty to his father, Col. William Beatty. Beatty describes his arrival in Virginia
and how he has found the state in an uproar. He continues to describe accounts from the Carolinas including the actions of
Generals Cornwallis, Smallwood, and Sumter.
