Richard Henry Lee was a staunch defender of colonial rights and was aligned with Patrick Henry as a strong opponent of the Stamp Act.

Letter recommending Lee's son, Thomas, as merchant fluent in French; discusses the "triangular" trade between the United States, the West Indies, and Europe; and urging him to strengthen commercial ties between their two states.
