[Description and date of item], [Box/folder number], West Virginia Mercer Study Documents, A&M 5229, West Virginia and Regional History Center, West Virginia University Libraries, Morgantown, West Virginia.
Records resulting from a study done by William M. Mercer, Inc. for the State College & University Systems of West Virginia. Includes generic job descriptions, PIQ and paygrade reports, salary information, material related to Mercer Reclassification grievances, and WVU-specific generic job descriptions. The binder containing this material was formerly kept in the university library for general reference. This Mercer Project apparently involved a job review of 6000 classified staff workers in higher education, and the subsequent alterations to classified staff job titles, pay grades, etc. resulted in 545 requests for grievance hearings across the system in 1994.
