Henry Poellnitz Johnston graduated from Washington and Lee University in 1929 and later worked as a newspaper executive in Birmingham, Alabama.
This collection includes items from Johnston's chairmanship of the 50th reunion of the Class of 1929 at Washington and Lee University in 1979 and from when he was named Distinguished Washington and Lee Alumnus in 1980. It also includes two typed letters signed by Supreme Court Justice Lewis F. Powell.
