In the 2007 election she defeated Henry C. "Hank" Giffin III and she defeated John Amiral in the 2009 election. In 2011, the 87th district was moved to Northern Virginia and Miller's district was redistricted to the 100th district which was headed by Delegate Lynwood Lewis.
