Biographical Information

Henry H. Douglas (1903-1987) founded the Pioneer America Society in 1967 and served as its executive director. A resident of Falls Church, Virginia, Douglas was an editor of Pioneer America and Echoes of History - both publications of the Pioneer America Society - in the 1960s and 1970s. The publications focused on historic sites of Northern Virginia.

Scope and Content

The Henry H. Douglas papers contain notes, correspondence, articles, interview transcripts, images, and other materials about historic sites in Prince William County, Virginia and surrounding areas. One area of focus in these papers is Beverley Mill, a historic grist mill near Broad Run, VA. Douglas' notes and collected materials are mostly from the 1960s and 1970s.
