Historical Information

Facilities Management operates, cleans, maintains, repairs, replaces, renews, and secures all buildings, grounds, utilities, and other infrastructure assigned to George Mason University. This responsibility changed considerably over the years as the university grew from four buildings in 1964 to nearly 150 today.

Scope and Content

This collection contains the facilities management records for George Mason University from the 1952 to 2003. More specifically, it contains photos, blue prints, microfilms, project manuals, change orders, and other project related documents pertaining to facilities management. Some of the facilities management projects documented in this collection are the expansion of student residence halls as well as campus libraries and other buildings, maintenance work on specific buildings, and other facilities work around campus.
