Acquisition Information
This item came to the Library of Virginia in shipments of court papers from Charlotte County.
In 1909 S. C. Daniel was appointed trustee to oversee the assets of the Charlotte Banking and Insurance Company. After the
bank became insolvent, Daniel was unwilling to assume the responsibility of administering the said trust without protection
from the Charlotte County Circuit Court.
Charlotte Banking and Insurance Company Business Records were used as evidence in the chancery case, S. C. Daniel, trustee
versus Charlotte Banking and Insurance Company, heard in the Circuit Court of Charlotte County.
Charlotte Banking and Insurance Company Business Records, 1872-1909, record the instituitons financial activites. They consist
of blotter and ticklers, checkbooks, drafts, journals, ledgers, bills receivable books, cashiers' books, and day books.
