Scope and Content Information

There is a book of twenty-two mounted black-and-white photographs, 8 inch by 10 inch oblong, of the castle-like residence, Renishaw, near Sheffield, England, of the Sitwell family, depicting exterior and interior views and showing the famous paintings, statuary, armor, vases, books, and furniture. Included are photographs of Sir Osbert Sitwell and his sister Dame Edith Sitwell (1887-1964). There is also a letter, August 24, 1960, from Sir Osbert Sitwell, Renishaw Hall, Renishaw, near Sheffield, to American entertainer Rudy Vallee (1901-1986), enclosing the album of photographs and mentioning the death of Madame Kochanska.
