Scope and Content Information

Writing to J.R. Osgood & Company, William Cullen Bryant, The Evening Post , New York requests their permission to allow an unnamed literary weekly to publish an extract from the unpublished volume of his translation of The Odyssey . He had previously allowed Scribner's Magazine to print a similar passage with the preliminary notice that it was from the second volume soon to be published by J.R. Osgood & Company, without compensation.
