Scope and Content
This collection consists of ca. 125 items, 1832, 1874, 1911-1933, and 1956-1964, and includes notes concerning American history, especially the War of 1812, and notes concerning furs and the fur trade; an address book; correspondence of Mary Oakley Hay ; an In Memoriam for Elizabeth Condit Hay (1808-1874); an obituary for Reverend Samuel Cox Hay (1836-1911); photographs of lake scenes and possibly one of Reverend Samuel Cox Hay ; and reports and other papers pertaining to the social work of Mary O. Hay .
Miss Hay served as the Organization Secretary, Women's Department, of the Greater New York Federation of Churches . Also present is a letter, December 3, 1832, from Silas Condit to his daughter, Mrs. E. P. [Trippe] , in which he describes his trip to Washington, D.C.
